Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader has left the hospital after 12 days of treatment.

He was released from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University at 9:30 am on Sunday (December 26) and went straight to the secretariat.

Bangabandhu Medical Chest Disease Chairman and Medical Board Member Prof. Atiqur Rahman confirmed the matter to reporters.

It is learned that the Minister of Road Transport and Bridges was the chief guest at the inaugural function of ‘Dhaka Nagar Paribahan’ at the Secretariat.

Obaidul Quader was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in the morning of December 14 due to physical illness and for some regular checkups. There a ten-member medical board was formed for his treatment.

Obaidul Quader was admitted to BSMMU on March 3, 2019 after falling seriously ill. After giving first aid there, doctors performed angiogram on three blocks in his coronary artery, one of which was removed. He was later admitted to Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore. He returned to the country after being treated there for more than two months.

After returning to the country from Singapore, Quader fell ill again in 2020 and was admitted to the hospital. After falling ill on February 9 last year, he was re-admitted to BSMMU. After recovering, he returned home.
